My name is Ama Agyakomah Agyeman Tuffour, and I am graduating from Wesleyan University in May 2026 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Global Engagement.

Through the Global Engagement minor, I have deepened my interest in colonialism and its lasting effects in Sub-Saharan Africa. GEM has given me the intellectual framework to better understand these interests, especially around education, culture, power, identity, and inequality. It has also helped me think more carefully about my own positionality and about what it means to engage ethically and respectfully with communities while continuing to learn from them.

As I move into whatever comes next, I hope to carry these perspectives with me. I want to keep using the skills I have gained through GEM to think critically, engage across cultures, and contribute to work that is rooted in justice, community, and historical awareness.
